Tours of the Basilica

From 13th of Novem­ber 2017 the­re will be no offi­cial ope­ning of St. Mary’s Altar by Veit Stoss at 11.50 a.m. The Altar stays ope­ned.

In St. Mary’s Church, the main sce­ne of the famo­us altar is being reno­va­ted. The pre­sent view of the  sculp­tu­res and bas-reliefs is a trans­i­tio­nal sta­te. The altar is par­tial­ly cove­red but we have expo­sed four main figu­res and two side reliefs. We are asking for under­stan­ding and patien­ce.

Noti­fi­ca­tion of the visit is not requ­ired and tic­kets are not limi­ted. We do not have an onli­ne booking sys­tem.

St. Mary’s Church is open to indi­vi­du­al visi­tors and tourist gro­ups eve­ry day when no Mass is being con­duc­ted.

Half of the church is open to touri­sts, inc­lu­ding the pres­by­te­ry and its main altar. Admis­sion to this part of the Basi­li­ca is based on admis­sion tic­kets.

The second part of the church with the main entran­ce is limi­ted to per­so­nal pray­er in front of the Eucha­rist exhi­bi­ted in the mon­stran­ce and to con­fes­sion. During the visit, ple­ase keep silen­ce.
