From Mon­day thro­ugh Satur­day, the altar carved by Veit Stoss opens at 11:50 a.m. and clo­ses at 6:00 p.m. On Sun­days and holi­days, the St. Mary’s Altar is open from 2:10 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. On cer­ta­in Sun­days and feast days, the­re will be no altar ope­ning cere­mo­ny, as it rema­ins open during the cele­bra­tion of the Litur­gy. This is due to the depic­tion on it of vario­us sce­nes from the lives of Jesus and Mary, inc­lu­ding the Nati­vi­ty, the Resur­rec­tion, and the Assump­tion of the Vir­gin Mary.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Visi­tors may pri­ma­ri­ly tour the pres­by­te­ry and the front sec­tion of the basilica’s nave, along with the cha­pels. The entran­ce on the south side is desi­gna­ted for visi­tors. The main entran­ce from the Mar­ket Squ­are leads to the area for per­so­nal pray­er, con­fes­sion, and ado­ra­tion of the Bles­sed Sacra­ment, which is expo­sed in one of the cha­pels. Touri­sts are kin­dly asked not to use this entrance.
During the tour, ple­ase rema­in silent and fol­low the gene­ral rules.
